[SOLVED] : Are you going to the telegram? Here are 5 tips and tricks you should know

Telegram is adding new users in droves following public backlash against Facebook’s new privacy policy and updated terms of service on WhatsApp. Users must agree to the updated terms of service and privacy policies or else they will lose their access to the app by February 8, 2021. Facebook’s move has sparked an uproar with reports claiming it makes data sharing with Facebook mandatory.

If you’ve already made the switch and started using Telegram, here are some Telegram tips and tricks to improve your messaging experience.

1) Activate secret chat

Chat on Telegram is user-to-server encrypted, unlike WhatsApp or Signal, which is user-to-user encrypted. However, you can sign up for something called Secret Chat on Telegram, to provide full end-to-end encryption of chats. Secret conversations are designed to be temporary and are not saved on Telegram’s servers.

Once the secret chat feature is activated, you also have the option of self-destructing your chats by setting a timer varying from one second to one week. This means that you can make your secret Telegram chats as short as needed.

Text forwarding or screenshot and screen recording of secret chat messages are also blocked by Telegram. As of now, Secret Chat is limited to one individual conversion and does not work for groups.

To start a secret chat, select the contact you want to start a secret chat with and open the chat box. Press the top user information bar> Press the three-button drop-down menu in the upper right corner> Select Start Secret Chat option. A pop-up will confirm if you want to join a secret chat. Tap Start. This will invite your contact to join the secret chat.

3) broadcast messages using a channel

You can broadcast public messages to large groups of people using Channels. Unlike groups, channels have no limit on the number of people that can be added. Messages sent to the channel are named after the channel rather than the individual’s name. To make sure important messages don’t go unread, you can pin these texts to a channel. To pin a message, tap it and tap Pin. This will ensure that the message stays at the top of the chain before the reader deletes them.

4) Delete messages from the sender

In Telegram, you can also delete messages sent by other users. While this sounds pretty unusual, it’s for users who put privacy first. To delete a received message, select the sender’s message > press the Delete button> Delete also for XYZ> Press on Wipe off. This will ensure that the sender’s messages are also deleted from their device.

Learn how to find groups and channels on Telegram, using the app’s search tool or the websites that list them. Finding Telegram channel groups might not be that easy. With a few exceptions, they’re usually private and don’t show up in the app’s search results. But with a few tips, you can find whatever you’re looking for.

Groups are discussion forums that bring together two or more people (the limit is 200,000 members!) To discuss different topics. Groups are generally private, but can be defined as public. Already a channel is generally configured with a transmitter button, to automatically send messages; links ; photos and summaries of website and blog postings (such as the official Tecnoblog and Slashdot channels); social media posts and other content. Since the channels work as a stream, the number of subscribers is unlimited. Channels can be configured as public; appearing in Telegram search results, or private, so that only members and guests can access it.

You can find public groups on Telegram using third-party websites, which maintain lists of those who are defined as public. Typically, administrators should request that these sites list their channels. Below we list two list sites:

  • TelegramGroup

TelegramGroup is a search engine that allows you to find groups, but also channels and bots, since they have been listed by administrators. It separates the search by categories and has a very large list, with the most varied subjects.

  • TeleGroups (telegram index)

TeleGroups, or Telegram Index, is quite similar to TelegramGroup and has a search engine that allows you to narrow the search to groups only; channels or bots, depending on the user is the desire. Like the first website, it separates groups into categories and has a large list of channels and groups already registered.

You can use the above sites to find channels on Telegram. But unlike groups, channels can be found on Telegram using the application’s search engine. To succeed,

  • Open Telegram and tap on the search icon;
  • In “Search”, enter the name or topic of the channel you want to search;
  • In the ‘Global Search’ field, Telegram will display the channels listed as public with equivalent names.

To join a Telegram group:

  • Open Telegram, switch to the Exchanges tab and press the navigation bar at the top of the page.
  • Enter a term or the name of a group that concerns you. To find the Tech SEO podcast group, for example, search for “Tech SEO”.
  • Tap the group name to view it. To join the group, click on “Subscribe”.

Group administrators may have built-in security to prevent spammers. In this case, you must resolve the calculation code (CAPTCHA) to be eligible to participate in the group. Many groups can be found on Telegram. Some of these private groups, however, require that a member invite you to access them.
