Sony Ericsson Kurara, its specifications and some images are filtered.
Sony Ericsson wants to make noise again, it has achieved it in an important way in recent weeks with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, now it is the turn of some leaks of a different model, but quite interesting, baptized with the code name kurara.
A couple of weeks ago an image appeared, today we have another two more, and I think it’s interesting to share them with you, apparently this phone will be quite similar in specifications to the Sony Ericsson Satio, which places it in the high range of the house, let’s take a look at the unconfirmed data that has appeared on the network.
The source informs us that its dimensions are more compact than those that the Sony Ericsson Satellite, conditioned by a smaller screen size, 3.2 inches, and the camera will also be reduced from 12 to 8 megapixels. They also tell us that they will share the operating system Symbian S60.
There is nothing confirmed but if we continue with the data provided by the source, the phone will have the ability to record video in 720p format. The camera is accompanied by a flash leds and all the new software present in the brand’s terminals, such as the detection of faces and smiles.
It will share circuitry with the Sony Ericsson Satelliteso it will have a processor MRA Cortex A8 at 600MHz accompanied by a GPU PowerVR SGX, a hardware platform similar to the one used by the Samsung Omnia HD, the Palm Pre, the iPhone 3GS or the Nokia N900. It will have 256MB of RAM.
It won’t be bad either in terms of connectivity, WiFi with dlna, HSDPA Y HSUPAreceiver gps integrated and microSD card slot. The chosen battery is 1200 mAh, and has a 3.5 mm jack connector.
A detail that will attract the attention of many is the disappearance of the FastPort connectorreplaced by the much more comfortable microUSB port, which is covered by a protective cover so it cannot be identified in the photos, but they let us know at the source.
Regarding the price, it is also rumored that it will be close to 500 euros and could have a release date of February.
For now there is no more information to offer, I look forward to this new phone which, together with the new Xperia, and despite being high-end terminals, can help to revive the situation of Sony Ericsson in the market, which I see as the first defect to continue using S60 as an operating system.
It’s a bit risky to put this video here, but it’s spreading through the net between pages that I can trust, in it we can see the first video sample in 720p format from a Sony Ericsson Kurara:
