Sony presents the PS5 interface.

IN BRIEF:

  • Sony presented the PlayStation 5 console interface;
  • in the extensive video material, we can see, among other things, a control panel, which will be a kind of command center while playing, as well as activities that allow, for example, to quickly jump to specific levels or challenges in the game;
  • we were also allowed to take a look at the main screen of the new menu and informed that the new PlayStation Store would be fully integrated into the system.
  • Less than a month before the debut of the PlayStation 5 console (its premiere in Poland is scheduled for November 19), Sony presented to the world the appearance of its interface. A short entry has appeared on the official PlayStation blog, in which the creators pay attention primarily to two new features. The first will be the Control Center, which will provide us with immediate access to the most important options. The second is Activities, allowing, among other things, to quickly jump to specific levels or challenges in a given game. You can learn more about what the PlayStation 5 interface will look like in the video below.

    While the PlayStation 5 interface may be somewhat reminiscent of the menu of the previous Sony console, it was designed completely from the ground up. We will see the above-mentioned control panel primarily when we put the console to sleep during the game, and after some time we restart it. Not only will it allow us to immediately return to the fun, but it will also give us access to, among other things, friends lists and games downloaded in the background, or will allow us to manage power options for accessories and devices.

    The cards integrated with it are also noteworthy, as they allow for various interactions with games. Among them we will find, among others, messages from the developers, screenshots made by us or recorded video materials from the game, as well as the above-mentioned activities. Interestingly, based on our previous achievements, the console will try to predict how long it will take us to complete a given level or challenge. In addition, some games will receive official guides (Game Help), however, only available to PlayStation Plus subscribers.

    The above video also devotes some space to voice chat and party-related opportunities (like watching a game broadcast by a friend even when playing in another game). In its second half, however, we can take a look at the main interface screen, which resembles the one from PlayStation 4, as well find out about the brand new PlayStation Store that has been integrated into the system; unfortunately, the Japanese giant has not yet shown a new version of its digital store.
