Sony has withdrawn Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store on PS4 and PS5, and has announced that it will return the purchase amount to all users who request it.
Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most anticipated games of the generation, has also had one of the most rugged launches. A few days after reaching the stores, and due to the state of the game on PS4 and Xbox One, CD Projekt promised to return the money to all those who requested it. The thing was not too clear, since the Polish study does not have control over the physical and digital stores of the different platforms.
Now, Sony has just announced in an official statement (which you can see at this link) that it will return the money to all those who buy Cyberpunk 2077 through the PlayStation Store and request it. And in an unheard of move (we don’t recall anything similar being done before), the company has also announced that Remove Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice. That is, at the moment it is not possible to purchase a digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and PS5.
“SIE aspires to achieve a high level of consumer satisfaction, so we will offer a full refund to all players who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through the PlayStation Store. SIE is also removing Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store until further notice.
Once we have confirmed that you have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 through the PlayStation Store, we will begin to process your refund. Please remember that the completion of your refund may vary depending on your payment method and financial institution. “
We just checked it on our consoles and, indeed, Cyberpunk 2077 is nowhere to be found.
For its part, CD Projekt Red has also reported this event through one of its now famous “yellow announcements”. In this publication they confirmed what was said by Sony and presented the web address to go to request a refund for the game. From the company they assure that they are working so that Cyberpunk 2077 returns to the PS Store as soon as possible.
