STALKER 2 – ray tracing and 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X

The game looks to be impressive technically.

We got to know a handful of new details regarding STALKER 2. We learned that the game will use ray tracing. In addition, the Xbox Series X is expected to offer up to 120 frames per second and support for 4K resolution. We can also expect instant loading thanks to the SSD disk. All this information was disclosed by updating the production profile on the official website of the Xbox brand. However, we can safely assume that ray tracing will also be available on PC.

A trailer for the game was recently shown at the Xbox Games Showcase. Unfortunately, it was only the so-called “Target render”, i.e. a pre-rendered movie, which, however, presents graphics and the atmosphere in which the creators are aiming. So we still don’t know what the production will look like in action.

Let us remind you that after the trailer was published, the authors revealed some details about the game. The game will offer one open world, the size of which will be bigger than anything else offered by the previous games. The events in it will be ruled by the A-Life 2.0 system, thanks to which the Zona is to be constantly changing, and at every moment there will be “a lot of things happening in it, even if the player will not be an eyewitness to them”.

STALKER 2 is aimed at PCs and the Xbox Series X. The game is to be a “console exclusive on XSX” at the time of its premiere. This probably means that it will see the PlayStation 5 version, but users of this hardware platform will have to wait longer.

We shouldn’t expect a quick release of the game. Until recently, official materials mentioned 2021, but now the authors say that they are not able to give any specific date yet. We can therefore expect to wait until at least 2022.
