São Paulo, June 15, 2020 – Calling all pilots and pilots! Electronic Arts Inc. (EA), Motive Studios and Lucasfilm today announced Star Wars: Squadrons, an immersive first-person space combat experience set in the beloved Star Wars galaxy. Star Wars: Squadrons will feature thrilling 5v5 multiplayer combat, massive fleet battles and an original story set in the final days of the Galactic Empire and during the rise of the New Republic after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The game will be released on October 2, 2020 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC via Origin, Steam and Epic Games Store and will be playable in Virtual Reality on PlayStation 4 and PC, in addition to crossplay support. Tune in to EA Play Live on June 18th at 8pm ET for the Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay announcement.

“We created this game for every Star Wars fan who has ever dreamed of flying across the galaxy in their favorite starfighter,” said Ian Frazier, Creative Director at Motive Studios. “Through the collaboration of the teams at Motive and Lucasfilm, we were able to create a high-fidelity starfighter experience. The story is authentic and invites Star Wars fans to explore never-before-seen corners of the galaxy in their own starship. We look forward to showing it all in action at EA Play Live next week.”

In Star Wars: Squadrons, players will enlist to pilot starfighters, stepping into the ___pits of iconic fleets from both the New Republic and Empire. They’ll strategize with their squadrons in the operations room before taking off into space battles across the galaxy. Players will face strategic battles in space in the 5v5 multiplayer format, with the objective of destroying the flagship in Fleet Battles and will feel the adrenaline in multiplayer first-person combats as they work with their squadron to execute the best tactics and defeat the maximum possible of opponents in aerial combat. Pilots will triumph as a team, adjusting the composition of their squadron that best suits their playstyle as they progress, destroying their opponents and completing objectives throughout familiar and previously unexplored locations, such as the gas giant of Yavin Prime and the devastated moon of Galitan.

Star Wars: Squadrons offers a game rich with cosmetic and customization options including unlockable rewards and bonuses as you progress through the game. As they improve their ranks, male and female players will earn components to customize the performance of their starfighters, such as weapons, hulls, engines and shields; they will also earn cosmetic items to customize their ___pit, ship’s exterior and pilot’s appearance, with a clear trajectory of progression. In addition, players will be able to build squads with friends and play against others, regardless of platform, as there will be crossplay support between Xbox One, Playstation 4, PC and VR.

Star Wars: Squadrons will also feature a single-player story mode that will bring events after the Battle of Endor to life, when the Rebel Alliance managed to destroy the Death Star II. During the story, players will learn what it means to pilot a starfighter, from one of two different perspectives: serving the New Republic in the heroic Vanguard Squadron or fighting for the fearsome Titan Squadron of the Galactic Empire. This authentic story features several original characters, plus cameos from some familiar faces from the Star Wars galaxy.

Star Wars: Squadrons is now available for pre-order* and lands in physical and digital stores on October 2 for R$ 199. EA Access and Origin Access Basic subscribers can enjoy up to 10 hours of gameplay at launch, in addition to 10% off when purchasing the full game.
