TFT: What about next patches (ranked, UI changes, new champs and origins)? Will we get NE/XP for playing?.

It’s been over a week with Teamfight Tactics on the live servers. What is Riot planning next?

What’s next in patch 9.13?

Patch 9.13 will be on the live servers for two more weeks (that’s not a mistake! The total length of this patch is three weeks). Every few days we can expect balance changes – similar to the previous ones:

TFT: What about next patches (ranked, UI changes, new champs and origins)? Will we get NE/XP for playing?
  • Micropatch 9.13 – July 3 – Teamfight Tactics – Changes to Pyke, Yordle and Spear of Shojin
  • Micropatch 9.13 – July 1 – Teamfight Tactics: Character Changes (Elise, Kennen, Poppy, Varus, Veigar, Volibear, MF, Karthus; Demon) and Champion Pool
  • Hotfix 9.13 – June 30 – Teamfight Tactics: Yasuo and Morellonomicon Changes
  • Hotfix 9.13 – June 27 – bugfixes, nerf Garen on TFT

The goal of these micropatches is to make the gamemode as stable as possible until ranked (patch 9.14).

Patch 9.14: ranked and new content

Rankeds

  • How will TFT ranked work?
  • July 17th & 18th First Official Teamfight Tactics Tournament: Celebrating TFT Ranked

In patch 9.14, Riot will launch ranked Teamfight Tactics and officially kick off the “beta season”. Remember that in TFT, the first four people win – those four people will also receive LP.

A new hero

  • Teamfight Tactics (TFT) 9.13: Character Origins and Classes. All the heroes of Skirmish Tactics

In Update 9.14, a new hero will also be joining Teamfight Tactics: Twisted Fate. He will be a pirate and a magician.

Item RNG is bad!

  • Teamfight Tactics: available items

Riot believes that RNF in the context of TFT is good in the long run. It prevents boredom and enables change. So you can’t give it up completely.

The creators do not hide, however, that the item system sometimes seems very unfair, especially if one person does not receive any items and the opponent receives several. So Riot is planning changes. We don’t know the specific plans yet, but “guaranteed drops” will probably be introduced. Other types of drops than items are also checked, e.g. gold, experience and even heroes.

The changes will come in patch 9.14.

Information in the interface

Riot also intends to introduce more elements in the interface to provide a clear picture of how the individual elements of Teamfight Tactics work. What can we expect?

  • damage counter,
  • statistics panel for units,
  • win streak / lose streak ratios,
  • the ability to view items from the equipment,
  • fixes to the current arrangement of UI elements…

…and many others!

Some of the changes will already be available in update 9.14.

Next patches

New content will appear in virtually every patch. We should soon see a new origin that will create new build paths. Riot wants TFT to always feel fresh and exciting.

In the new season, Riot plans to release the entire second set, which will start a new round of gameplay with new units and origins.

We should get rewards for playing (XP, NE)

  • TFT will accrue tokens for the Arcade Pass

For now, we can get content related to the Beta Pass with TFT. However, players do not hide their disappointment with the lack of experience and NE for playing the new mode. Riot, however, is working on introducing a system of rewarding the player for playing Teamfight Tactics (unfortunately, there is no information anywhere whether it will be related to the existing possibilities – i.e. XP and NE – or something completely different will be created).

Riot also wants to find a way to integrate Summoner’s Rift, ARAM, Twisted Treeline and TFT into one coherent experience (as they are all very different in terms of gameplay).
