The class action lawsuit against CD Projekt for the version of Cyberpunk 2077 for PS4 and Xbox One has been filed.
The problems for Cyberpunk 2077 and its creators, CD Projekt, continue to grow, now with a class action lawsuit that we already warned you about a few days ago. An American law firm has already launched it.
Not five days ago, we anticipated that the investors of CD Projekt were studying suing them. Well, the Rosen Law Firm of New York, has already filed the class action lawsuit against CD Projekt, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, for the alleged violation of federal securities laws.
Announced through a press release, Rosen Law Firm has filed the class action lawsuit on behalf of buyers who acquired securities of CD Projekt SA between January 16, 2020 and December 17, 2020, and seeks to “recover damages from CD Projekt investors under federal securities laws”.

Among other things, the lawsuit claims that CD Projekt “has made false or misleading claims” and further failed to disclose that “Cyberpunk 2077 was virtually unplayable on the current generation of PlayStation and Xbox consoles due to the enormous amount of bugs. “Our analysis of the PC version got a score of 98, because despite the bugs in the absence of polishing, we found it to be a marvel, especially technically.
We couldn’t say the same for the PS4 and Xbox One versions. We have compared them on video, and we even analyzed the PS4 version with the 1.04 update, and the result was far, far below. Something that collapsed the networks with messages, videos and images with the abundant bugs and errors, going viral all over the world.

We do not need to summarize what happened next, because it was the talk of the end of the year: first CD Projekt announced the return of the game, something that was not as fluid as expected, and that ended with Sony announcing the withdrawal of Cyberpunk 2077 from PS Store until it was repaired (Microsoft has not withdrawn it, but has warned of the problem), while CD Projekt opened a limited period to return the physical copies out of pocket as well. Even with everything, the game has more than 13 million copies sold after returns.
For everything that happened, the lawsuit against CD Projekt over Cyberpunk 2077 states that, as a result of all these events, “CD Projekt would suffer reputational and pecuniary damage” and that “His claims about his business, operations and forecasts were totally false, misleading and / or lacking a reasonable basis at all times”.

We will continue to report.
