Incineroar is the last fighter to be playable in Smash Bros. from launch. Ultimate. Litten’s latest evolution from Pokémon Sun and Moon is an over-the-top wrestling cat who, as Final Smash, performs an attack similar to his Z move from the Pokémon games.

Ghost boys

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate seems to take a bit of inspiration from Avengers: Infinity War, as a ton of video game characters are being robbed of their bodies and turned into spirits. A big difference is that they are not gone forever, but can serve as a power-up for playable characters.

You can’t think of it as crazy or it is in it: from that lady from Fatal Frame to Revolver Ocelot from Metal Gear Solid, everyone is there. You can choose main spirits and auxiliary spirits for your character to become stronger or gain extra skills. Spirits can also be combined to gain an advantage over certain opponents.

Spirits can be collected by winning Spirit Battles. If you win such a fight, you will get the chance to free the spirit by means of a mini game. Spirits grow stronger by taking them to battle. Some spirits even evolve when they are at their highest level. The better you train those mind buddies, the stronger and more useful they are.

As if that spirit madness wasn’t enough, you can make countless combinations of ghosts. Nintendo promises players that they will be continuously surprised by the shitload of spirits that are in the game. It seems inevitable that you will no longer see the forest because of the ghosts, so the game makes recommendations for which main and auxiliary spirits to use.
