The Last of Us: Part II and God of War are reportedly getting an update on PS5 to support haptic feedback from the new DualSense controller. According to GamesRadar, Naughty Dog’s game also takes advantage of the PS5’s adaptive triggers.

DualSense support for PS4 games

The main function of the DualSense is haptic feedback, which allows the developer to provide different sensations through a series of small vibrations during gameplay. According to Sony, players will feel the difference between racing through the mud or on the track, hearing resistance when jumping into the water or a bouncy feeling when crossing a wooden bridge.

Another important innovation is the adaptive triggers. The DualSense’s triggers offer different levels of resistance to make shooting a bow and arrow feel real, for example. The resistance increases the further you draw the arrow towards you, while a machine gun feels very different from a shotgun.

According to the site, every shot you fire with a weapon in Naughty Dog’s game results in impressive feedback from the controller, something that can also be felt during the combat in God of War, especially when you open the Guardian Shield used by Kratos or when you throw his Leviathan axe. Sony has not yet officially confirmed the changes.

The PlayStation 5 will be released in the Netherlands on November 19. It is no longer possible to place a pre-order and there will also be no single copies in stores. On November 18, you can only go to Coolblue and BCC, although the stock will be extremely small. In addition, Bol.com expects a new stock soon.
