The preliminary focus of The Last of Us Part II, released today, is on a fairly strong woman. He was already in the first part, though not as he is now.

It was clear throughout that Sony was showing a new detail from The Last of Us Part II during its Paris Games Week performance, but not who the characters in the video were, where they belonged, what they wanted, and where there is Ellie and Joel.

Ellie might have been there all along, well hidden from our sight. Naughty Dog revealed that the girl whose hand is being broken is Yara, the guy who is helping her is Lev, and the evil-faced woman is Emily.

However, when it came to the character played by Laura Bailey, she obscured her name with four dice:

Neil Druckmann said in the post-Media Showcase video, they’re just listening for now, but they’re curious to see what players are guessing. The first theory was born; according to this, the hanged woman is none other than Anna, the mother of Ellie, who died when the girl was born. This is also indicated by where Emily sticks the knife – Anna was probably already pregnant at the time, and Emily knew that. We only heard about it a few times in the first part.

On September 26, a new poster was released, depicting a hand, similar to the game’s previous posters. It was just holding a hammer, just like the prisoner at the end of the trailer.

For now, these are just guesses, but based on their allusions, we prefer to vote for the fact that the mystery has been solved.
