Naughty Dog, the studio responsible for the Uncharted and The Last of Us franchises, is working on an as-yet-undisclosed remake project. The information comes from the curriculum of Corey Hong, who has been working with the quality certification of the company’s games since 2019 and who was involved in The Last of Us Part 2 and Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.
The news reinforces rumors, dating back to April last year, that the studio would be producing a remake of The Last of Us to coincide with the upcoming HBO series, starring Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie). The scoop was originally shared by Bloomberg, while the VGC corroborated it with its own sources.
The Linkedin profile also indicates that Corey is involved in a multiplayer project that has not yet been announced, both in the area of QA (Quality Assurance) and also in the design of environments.
It is worth remembering that Naughty Dog has already confirmed that it is developing a multiplayer mode for The Last of Us Part 2, but that it intends to reveal more details only “when it is ready”.

What do the rumors say?
Apparently, the supposed remake of The Last of Us would be in charge of the Visual Arts Service Group, a PlayStation support studio, but Naughty Dog would have taken the lead with the arrival of The Last of Us Part 2, in June 2020. VGC also informs that the game is practically ready, with a potential launch for 2022.
On social networks, animator Robert Morrison, from the Visual Arts Service Group, even shared that he has been working on a secret project for at least three years. “I’m not working on Ragnarok, but it’s just as cool,” wrote Robert, who participated in the latest Santa Monica Studios game.

Naturally, users have linked Robert’s leads to the post-apocalyptic series, thanks to rumors suggesting the studio’s involvement. He also reiterates that PlayStation has “a few bombs” coming out this year.
Although multiple sources point to the existence of the project, the companies have yet to officially comment. Therefore, it is necessary to consider all the information contained in this article as a rumor.
