Several have complained in Nintendo’s game that we can only explore the vast, open world alone. This is what the modders are trying to remedy, creating a cooperative mode for the Breath of the Wild.
The cooperative mode is no stranger to the Zelda series, just think of Four Swords Adventure or Tri-Force Heroes, but we haven’t gotten a game in which we can venture into an open world with our partner. Well, we hope the modders of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild bring the long-awaited experience.
As you can read in the NeoGAF forums, creating a mod takes a lot of energy and time because the developers of Breath of the Wild had no idea that the game would ever get a multiplayer add-on. Fooni, a member of the mod making team, says it takes at least a year for their work to work, but they have already been able to share a few pictures.
It is not yet clear how they will resolve the conversation with NPCs or entering a dungeon that completely isolates Link from the outside world. Because Breath of the Wild is a console game and there is no Switch emulator available yet, the developers of the mod are looking at a PC version compiled by fans in the Wii U emulator. Things may also be complicated by Nintendo’s condemnation of the use of mods, so it doesn’t know if the company will take action on the matter.
While the task seems huge, we’ve already seen moders be able to bring together cooperative modes for games, as was the case with parts two and three of Just Cause. There, fans enjoy the full support of the Avalanche.
We still have something to tell you, you will find all the interesting things here!
