The new Animal Crossing and Pokemon are great world hits.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is selling like crazy.

Nintendo boasted the results of its latest hits. It turned out to be a gigantic success Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The game debuted on March 20 and found 13.41 million buyers, of which 11.77 million were in the first eleven days after the premiere. The production has already surpassed the overall results of the previous two major installments of the series, i.e. Animal Crossing New Leaf (12.45 million) and Animal Crossing: Wild World (11.75 million).

The duo of Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are also doing great. By March 31, 2020, total sales of these games amounted to 17.37 million copies.

This information was included in the report with the financial results for the previous accounting year, i.e. the period from April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020. Revenues amounted to USD 12.31 billion, an increase of 9% compared to the previous twelve months. On the other hand, the operating profit increased by 41%, reaching the level of 3.31 billion dollars.

3.29 million Nintendo Switch units were sold in the last quarter. In total, the console has already sold 55.7 million copies. By March 31, 2020, its users had purchased 356.2 million games. For comparison, total sales of the Wii U amounted to 13.56 million consoles and 103 million games. In turn, in the case of 3DS, it is 75.7 million and 383 million, respectively.

The past accounting year was the best in the history of Nintendo Switch, both in terms of sales of consoles and games for them. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield, and Luigi’s Mansion 3 did better than forecast. The results of Super Mario Maker 2 turned out to be a slight disappointment

Of all the games on Nintendo Switch, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe remains the biggest bestseller, with sales exceeding 24.77 million copies. The updated list of the greatest hits for this console is as follows:
