More information can be found below, as released by Capcom:
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak begins after the heroic defense of Kamura Village in Monster Hunter Rise. News of the village’s survival inspires the gallant knight Lady Fiorayne to travel from the distant Kingdom in search of help. The hunters who are brave enough to answer the call will leave for the port of Elgado Post. This research center and Command Post is responsible for stopping the threat that befalls the Kingdom. Top of the hit list include powerful creatures inspired by classic Western horror known as The Three Lords. This trio is made up of the elemental powerhouse Garangolm, the chilling Fang Serp Lunagaron, and the vampiric Elder Dragon Malzeno. In addition to these terrifying foes, more new monster variants emerge, and fan-favorite creatures are back, including Despicable Magnamalo, Espinas, and Shagaru Magala, who come to challenge hunters on Master Rank quest difficulty.
In order to face these calamitous forces head on, hunters arriving at Elgado Post will need to learn new ways of combat. While Kamura Village is renowned for its unique Cabinset techniques, including Ironsilk Attacks and Wyrm Ride, hunters summoned to the Realm will learn new Swap Skills in addition to gaining the new Switch Skill Change technique. This new mechanic allows hunters to assign Swap Skills to two different loadouts, which can be switched on the fly during a hunt. The added flexibility of choosing which skills are best for any given situation allows an experienced hunter to overcome virtually any obstacle. When receiving attacks during a Swap Skill Change, hunters can perform a Swap Dodge in any direction to avoid danger or to reposition themselves and continue attacking.
Research into the behavior of the Three Lords takes hunters across the Realm to new and reimagined locations, including the newly revealed Keep and the Return of the Wilds. The Fort has snowy peaks that cascade down to lush forests teeming with new forms of native life. At the center of this vast region sits a long-abandoned stronghold that serves as a bastion for the very monsters it was supposed to keep at bay. Meanwhile, the Jungle returns from the second generation of Monster Hunter titles and boasts a warm climate with abundant rainfall, making it a haven for the monsters and vegetation that live there.
