The popular DC and Marvel comic artists who can be found at Heroes Dutch Comic Con 2019 Winter Edition.
What is Comic Con without comic artists? So nothing at all! On November 23 and 24, you will have the chance to meet one of your favorite comic artists. Arthur Adams, Brad Walker, Chris Sprouse and Carlos Pacheco, among others, are present at the fair.
Comic fans pay attention! This year at Heroes Dutch Comic Con Winter Edition 2019 a number of hugely popular comic artists are present, who you can meet and have a chat with. It concerns seven cartoonists and a Marvel Comics editor, who takes the time to review a number of portfolios. Here is the list of artists you can meet:
Arthur Adams
Originally known for Longshot, a 1985 miniseries, he has since done a ton of work for some of the greatest comics in the world. Think of the covers and the interior of Marvel superstars such as the Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men and Fantastic Four.
Brad Walker
He has worked in the industry for over fifteen years, and has worked on titles for both DC Comics and Marvel Comics. His most successful work is The Iteration of the Guardians, which ultimately led to the hit film series Guardians of the Galaxy starring Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana.
CAFU
This Spanish artist started his career with DC Comics and achieved success with THUHDER the Agents series and Vixen: Return of the Lion. He also worked on the Marvel comics The Avengers and Black Panther, and those are not the least names! Have you seen the official poster of the Comic Con Winter Edition? CAFU designed it!
Chris Sprouse
With thirty years of experience, Sprouse is familiar with the industry. He worked for DC Comics for a large part of his career, for which he released the Eisner award-winning Tom Strong.
Carlos Pacheco
Pacheco is one of the greatest comic artists of recent years. He started with the Spanish releases for Marvel Comics, but was soon picked up by Marvel UK as a cartoonist for Dark Guard. His most recent masterpiece is the miniseries The Life of Captain Marvel. He also created, together with Kurt Busiek, who is also present at HDCC, Arrowsmith. They are currently working together on a sequel to this series.
Joyce Chin
Joyce Chin has also been involved in the comic book world for a while. In 1995 she wrote several songs for Guy Gardner: Warrior for DC Comics. Since then she has collaborated on major titles from various publishing houses such as Hulk, Green Lantern, Xena and Spider-Man. Today she works on the covers of Marvel works such as Deadpool Duck and Thor.
Kurt Busiek
Kurt Busiek was already active in the comic world in 1982. He has since contributed to titles such as Avengers, Conan and Superman, while now working on Arrowsmith with the aforementioned Carlos Pacheco.
Alanna Smith
This Marvel editor is looking for drawing talent in the Netherlands, so if you bring a portfolio you might be able to show it to her! She knows better than anyone how a good comic works, so if you do see a future in the comic industry, then this is the place to be!
