The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo today announced that the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games will be released on November 18, 2022.

Digital pre-orders of the games are available from Nintendo eShop starting today.

Koraidon and Miraidon, the new Legendary Pokémon appearing in these games, appear on the cover of the retail version of the respective game. The title logos stand out because of the foil-like design that these Legendary Pokémon use as a motif. The packaging of these games resembles the covers of old books and evokes the feeling that a new adventure is on the way.

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the first open world RPGs in the Pokémon series. In addition to familiar features such as trading Pokémon and battling Pokémon, these games allow players to explore the different locations of the region with up to four players.

New characters and Pokémon

Professor Sada and Professor Turo
For the first time, the version a player chooses determines which of the two professors appears in the game. In Pokémon Scarlet, players meet Professor Sada, and in Pokémon Violet, they meet Professor Turo. Each professor researches the traditions of the region.

Nemona has a cheerful and energetic character and a great passion for Pokémon battles. She is an accomplished Pokémon Trainer and a great support and reliable guide for players on their adventures.

On their journey, players will encounter previously unknown Pokémon. These include the following three Pokémon, which are part of Nemona’s team.

In addition to the electrical cavities in his cheeks, Pawmi has organs on his front legs that discharge electricity. He generates energy by rubbing his cheeks. He then shocks his opponents by touching them with the pads on his front legs.

The fur that covers its body provides excellent protection against the cold and serves as a storehouse of electricity. If it doesn’t feel comfortable, this wary Pokémon will start rubbing its cheeks to prepare to deliver an electric shock.

Lechonk uses its sense of smell to find and eat only the best-smelling wild grasses and the ripest berries. Because of its eating habits, it gives off a scent similar to spices that Bug-type Pokémon dislike. When he is attacked and startled by an opponent, he rushes forward in panic.

At first glance, it appears fat, but in reality, this Pokémon’s body is very muscular because it is constantly on the move in search of food.

The oil that comes out of his head tastes very bitter and is not suitable for consumption.
When startled or attacked, Smoliv fires this oil to slow down his opponent. He then takes the opportunity to run away.

In the fruit on his head, Smoliv stores the oil made from nutrients he obtains through photosynthesis. This allows him to go without food and drink for a week. It prefers a dry and sunny climate. And he likes to spend his days sunbathing.

First Partner Pokémon
There’s new information about Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, the Pokémon from which players can choose their first partner Pokémon.

This fickle attention-seeker may sulk if his Trainer pays attention to other Pokémon.

When Sprigatito makes kneading and rubbing movements with its front legs, it releases a sweet smell that can paralyze bystanders. This scent has healing powers and makes opponents lose their fighting spirit. The composition of its fluffy coat resembles that of plants. It can generate energy by absorbing sunlight. By combing himself he adds moisture to his coat. This supports its photosynthetic ability.

Fuecoco is a laid-back Pokémon that does everything at its own pace. He loves to eat and with a twinkle in his eye he runs towards all the food he finds.

The square scales on Fuecoco’s belly and back absorb external heat and then convert it into fire energy. These scales are always warm and at times they can become very hot. The flicker on top of Fuecoco’s head is fire energy leaking from Pokémon’s body. When Fuecoco gets excited, his head spews more flames.

This earnest Pokémon follows closely behind its Trainer. Quaxly is neat and hates it when his head gets dirty.

Its body shines continuously because the gel released by its feathers repels water and dirt. His quiff is slicked back thanks to a full and moist cream. This one gets messed up when it gets dry. It has long legs and can swim effortlessly even in strong currents. During a fight, he bombards opponents with quick and repeated kicks.
