During the first edition of LEAP22, the largest technology event ever launched, to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 1 to 3 February 2022startups from all over the world were invited to participate in the Rocket Fuel Start-up competition. This initiative offers a prize pool of $600,000 and will allow various startups to present their ideas and businesses to major international investors.

Entries for the Rocket Fuel Start-up contest are officially open and will close on February 18th. The startups will compete in a competition that will reward the most innovative and impactful. Of all those competing, there will be 90 finalists who will be invited to present their ideas live during LEAP22.

And their innovative idea will have to be explained in just five minutes to a jury of international investors who will have to choose whether this is one of the 10 best companies which will then have the opportunity to access the grand final on February 3rd.

The 10 finalist startups will then be evaluated based on the value of their business, measured on parameters of creativity, innovation, potential, functionality and impact on people and society. The winner will receive the LEAP Award and a prize of $200,000.

Finalists will also compete for three other prizes, including the Shooting Star Award for Best Early Stage Startup, worth $100,000; the Aviatrix Award for the best female-led startup; and the Technology for Humanity Award for the startup that best embodies the spirit of LEAP “Technology for Humanity”. The winners of these two categories will receive a prize of $150,000 each.

Rocket Fuel Start-up Competition Runs as Part of LEAP’s Investor Program, Connecting Local and International VC Funds and Investors Through an Exclusive Line of matchmaking events, networking and investing that will take place during LEAP. The investor program will include workshops, one-on-one meetings and after-hours functions, to connect Middle East region VCs and funds with new technology-focused investment opportunities, as well as supporting local startups to explore new potential sources of funding outside the region.
