The Witcher 3 next gen update could include fan mods.
The person in charge of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked (a mod) claims that he has held talks to include it in the next-gen version of The Witcher 3.
The next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, one of CD Projekt RED’s most iconic games, will arrive later this year. Released in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, Geralt of Rivia’s third adventure is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X | S with a next-gen update, in addition to the announced version of Cyberpunk 2077 for the new consoles. And, to the joy of fans, this version could include fan mods …
The news comes to us from the hand of creator of The Witcher 3 HD Reworked, one of the many mods for the RPG on PC. This considerably improves the textures of the game, as well as aspects of performance and resolution … and perhaps some of his work is included in the versions of The Witcher 3 for PS5 and Xbox Series X | S, although it is not confirmed.
Halk Hogan, creator of the project behind this mod, announced on social networks that has been in contact with CD Projekt to collaborate on the next-gen update from The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. We do not know if it is the console versions or a patch for the PC version, but everything seems to point to that the enormous work of the modders will be represented in this next-gen edition of the RPG.

Without a doubt, it would be great news and reward for the enormous work of the users of Nexus Mods and other platforms, who have been improving The Witcher 3 for a long time, outside of CD Projekt. It is well known that the Polish study has a lot of respect for modders (we could already see it with Cyberpunk 2077) And perhaps the official release on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S will include many of these improvements.
At the moment we do not know much about this next-gen version of The Witcher 3. We know that it will arrive at the end of the year and that those who already have the game on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to update it for free, although a release date is not yet known. The same goes for the next-gen version of Cyberpunk 2077, which will arrive after the release of the first DLC for the CD Projekt title.
