Today Microsoft’s video game streaming service finally arrives. What we knew for months as ‘Project xCloud’ will now be part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, which will be offered at no additional cost that cloud gaming option.
Microsoft has not used the name of that project to refer to this option, which will now be part of the offer of its most ambitious subscription service, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and with which we can access more than 150 video games that we can play directly on any Android-based mobile or tablet.
Play on your Android mobile or tablet (almost) as if you did on the Xbox or PC
The service, which has been in various preliminary testing phases for months, finally arrives definitively with a catalog of more than 150 titles of all types and that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can enjoy without additional charge.
Among those titles there will be some featured by Microsoft like ‘Tell Me Why’, ‘Grounded’, ‘Forza Horizon 4’ or ‘Battletoads’.
Among the attractions of this platform will not only be the fact of being able to enjoy them directly on any Android-based mobile device, but also to be able to continue games that we leave pending on the console or PC or vice versa.
Service becomes attractive even for those who do not have an Xbox, since it does not depend on the console and offers a gaming experience through the cloud that only requires an Android mobile device and a (good) internet connection. The service competes with Google Stadia or NVIDIA GeForce NOW, two proposals that have been trying to conquer the video game streaming segment for a few months now.
The launch of this video game streaming service reaches 22 countries simultaneously, but Microsoft assures that with this beginning they wanted ensure the stability and quality of the service and that they will gradually “scale the feature for millions of gamers globally.”
The price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate varies by country, but for example in Spain it is possible to try a month for just one euro. Thereafter, the monthly price is 12.99 euros, and includes a catalog of around 200 games that you can enjoy both on Xbox and PC, and that you can now also play on Android mobile devices through video game streaming.
