Trigger Run is an affordable FPS that won over fans at BGS 2018.

The Brasil Game Show is still happening and there is a lot to show at the event, as is the case of the Brazilian game Trigger Run, a “MOBA FPS”, as 2Axion calls it, which takes the concept of first person shooter games in arena with heroes full of skills and takes you to a more accessible modality.

During the event, we talked with Mario Silveira, the CEO of 2AXION, and talked a little about the game’s proposal and the public reception at BGS 2018, which had the chance to play Trigger Run in several stations around the fair (including at the booth) Voxel).

A more accessible game for those just starting out

For those unfamiliar, Trigger Run is a Brazilian indie game that takes the competitive concept of titles like Overwatch and Paladins, but takes you to a more accessible platform, both in terms of welcoming players with more modest computers and in terms of offer fast fun without a very serious competition.

According to Mario, Trigger Run is a very light game to run on the PC and even very modest machines are able to run the game without too many problems (the game weighs a little more than 100 MB and requires only 4GB of RAM to run).

2AXION wants to embrace beginning players and give them quick and fun games, according to the company’s CEO. Although they are not his words, the closest parallel here would be what CS 1.6 was for the kids of our time: no competitive modes or disputes that are worth something so valuable as to generate toxicity.

Mario says that Trigger Run was designed so that many young people who want to start playing multiplayer titles can find a cool experience. In total, the game has 15 heroes, but some need to be unlocked with paid packages, which is the way to monetize the experience, as 2AXION’s CEO told us.

Light and with little lag

As Trigger Run is a technically lightweight game, Mario explained that part of it also helps in connecting the servers for those who play, which in practice translates as an experience with little lag that could affect slower internets.

As there is little information being exchanged in real time, players end up experiencing little loss of data packets while playing. Theoretically, this offers a smoother game for everyone, which we ended up seeing in action with the bad connection of BGS.

And the feedback from the crowd that passed during the fair was good, with many young people joining the experience and enjoying what they played.

News announced at BGS 2018

2AXION took advantage of the space in the indie area to announce some news for Trigger Run, as two new heroes that will arrive next week: Dragons, from the attack class, and Vincent, from the defense class. The idea was to launch them during the Brasil Game Show 2018, but there were unforeseen technicalities.

In addition, Mario told about the new PvE mode in which players can help each other to eliminate opponents controlled by the computer. This mode will require extra energy, which is a resource that players must purchase in the store to take advantage of.

Trigger Run is available for PC and is currently in open beta for all players.
