Twin Mirror, DONTNOD’s psychological thriller, is now available for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
DONTNOD Entertainment is pleased to announce the release of Twin mirror, his new narrative adventure for PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4 (PlayStation Store) and Xbox One (Microsoft Store). In this psychological thriller, players will play Sam Higgs on his visit to the town of Basswood (West Virginia), where he will try to uncover the truth behind him.
After the tragic death of his best friend, Sam Higgs decides to return to Basswood, his hometown, to say goodbye to him. It won’t be long before it becomes clear that this small West Virginia town hides many dark secrets. The former investigative journalist will have to use his deductive skills to unravel the mysteries that surround the city and its inhabitants. Forced to face his past, Sam finds himself torn between re-bonding with loved ones and searching for the truth. Who can you trust?
Sam’s analytical skills will allow the player, through his mental palace, to relive his memories in flashbacks, study the environment and gather clues that allow him to simulate various scenarios and thus deduce the course of events or even predict key moments of history. However, this special trait may cause Sam to disconnect from the world and, at times, may even harm those around him.
That’s when the Double comes into play, a character that only Sam can see and who is a more empathetic and social representation of himself. Sam can always rely on this ally to guide him through social interactions and to survive in a society that sometimes rejects uniqueness. Thanks to these human qualities, the Double will offer Sam an alternative when making important decisions.
Every decision, every interaction, and every discovery will determine the direction Sam’s investigation will take and ultimately determine how much of himself he is willing to sacrifice. There are no correct or incorrect answers and each player will live a unique experience that will be shaped by their own decisions.
Twin mirror is the first self-published game by DONTNOD in co-production with Shibuya Productions. The digital PC version will be an Epic Game Store exclusive for one year. BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment will handle the distribution of the game for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
