Vernee Big Time: throwing the house out the window.
We have already told you about Vernee, a Chinese brand that is standing out from the rest for providing upper-middle-range terminals at a low-end price, and with careful aesthetics and manufacturing quality. Now the manufacturer has announced a promotion that begins this Monday through which we can buy its flagship terminal, the Apollo Lite, for $200 while its “Flagship Killer” terminal, the Vernee Thor, will stay for only $100.
You already know both terminals, but let’s do a review. We started with the Vernee Thor, a smartphone that was being sold as the “3GB Flagship Killer” and compared to Apple’s iPhone 6S. It incorporates a MediaTek MTK6753 SoC that has 8 64-bit physical cores running at a speed of 1.3 Ghz, complemented by an ARM Mali T720 GPU. This is accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage expandable with a microSD memory card.
The Vernee Thor has the latest version of the Android 6.0 operating system pre-installed from the factory, and incorporates a 5-inch screen with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to prevent scratches on it, and 2.5D curvature on the edges to give the impression that it has no frame. It has a 5 Mpx front camera and a 13 Mpx rear camera with autofocus, dual LED flash and touch focus, a feature that allows it to focus on a specific point by blurring the rest.
As for the Vernee Apollo Lite, it is a higher-end terminal. It mounts a 2.3 GHz ten-core Helio X20 (MTK6797) processor together with a Mali T880 GPU, which together with its 4 GB of dual-channel LPDDR4 RAM allows the device to achieve scores close to 100,000 points in AnTuTu Benchmark .
Apart from that, the terminal stands out for its 32 GB of internal storage and of course for its 5.5-inch Full HD screen with IGZO matrix and manufactured by Sharp, with 2.5D curvature at the edges and protected by the famous Gorilla Glass solution. 3. The rear is signed by Samsung (S5K3P3) of 16 Mpx capable of recording video in 4K resolution and with f/2.0 aperture and double LED flash, while the 5 Mpx front is also signed by Samsung (model S5K5E2).
Also noteworthy is its 3180 mAh battery with reversible USB 3.1 Type-C connector with Pump Express 3.0 technology that allows fast charging, its fingerprint sensor, dual-band WiFi connectivity and 4G LTE Cat 6 for maximum speed (compatible by of course with dual SIM). All this is governed by the latest Google operating system, Android 6.0.
