In mid-February, Euskaltel formalized its launch plan on the national market. The Basque operator is associated with Virgin Telco, of British origin, to use their brand in Spain and reach the 85% of customers to which they still do not have access. A few months have passed, but Euskaltel and Virgin Telco have just announced that the new operator finally arrives in Spain. Thus, a fifth group of national operators was born with José Miguel García, CEO of Euskaltel, at the forefront.
Virgin Telco will operate as a virtual operator and will use the Orange network. Euskaltel has been using this infrastructure for the deployment of fiber and mobile phones since 2014 thanks to an agreement that was renewed in 2019 until 2024. Thus, Virgin has the potential to reach around 13 million households. Euskaltel will have to pay fees to Orange (for the network) and to Virgin (for the brand), to which we will have to add some variables depending on the new subscribers.
Virgin Telco pricing and plans
The idea of Euskaltel is to offer customers the opportunity to buy what they really need. This way a customer can choose only fiber, only calls, calls and megabytes, TV, etc. There are also plans designed for the senior group that offer unlimited calling and up to 2 GB of data. The offer is cumulativeIn other words, we start with fiber and add different services to it.
- Fibre: 300 MB for 33 euros per month or 600 MB for 39 euros per month.
- Mobile: unlimited calls with 20 GB for 6 euros per month or with unlimited data for 29 euros per month.
- Permanent: calls to landlines and mobiles for 6 euros per month.
- Television: Premium with 50 channels and replay for 8 euros or Premium Extra with more than 80 channels for 14 euros per month. Android TV 4K decoding is included.
So, getting the package with the most comprehensive plans would cost 53 euros, but in the end it will depend on the services chosen.
If we don’t want fiber, you can choose one mobile plan only with 10 GB of data and unlimited calls for 9 euros per month or with 20 GB of data for 14 euros per month.
