Warcraft 3 Reforged – the original bushings and syncs are retained.

Blizzard at first wanted to rewrite the story of the game a bit, but in the end they didn’t because fans simply love the original dubbing sounds and scenes too much.

We’ve witnessed amazing announcements at this year’s BlizzCon opening ceremony, but let’s not forget that, in addition to the big guns, there’s still a complete rethink of WarCraft 3 Reforged, one of the company’s most successful games. Blizzard has now confirmed that while many things have really been rethought a bit, there are things they don’t even dare touch.

The development team that created the remake received a separate panel during BlizzCon, where they could delve deeper into the details of the project. One of the most important things that turned out to be related to the transition scenes, which was always a prominent point in the company’s games: the team revealed that although the videos were compressed to 240p in the original release, the masterpieces were made in 1080p, so they they will be more beautiful than ever in the new version, all without having to make any major changes to them.

Even if the lead-throughs don’t change, that doesn’t mean Blizzard wouldn’t have had plans with the story, as there’s been talk before that some actors (like Jaina or Sylvanas) wanted to give more roles. That in itself might not have bothered the audience so much, but the team still rejected the idea because it would have meant changing the original dubbing, which, according to Matt Morris, fans are very fond of:

“The sounds of clicks on the grunts or the dialogues of Arthas and Illidan are so nostalgic for the fans that we didn’t want to change them.”

Of course, a few things may go through a minor crease: the team has decided to slightly renovate a couple of locations that players in World of Warcraft may have encountered so that the two depictions are closer together:

“We’ve spent a lot of time refreshing the visuals of these quests, and then nostalgia for those familiar with the world of Warcraft at the sight of the familiar environment.”

A development team always dances on thin ice when trying to rethink a classic of this size, but based on what has been said, it seems very much that Reforged’s developers are trying to respect the things that made the original game memorable.
