Usually it is difficult to prove that someone is mercilessly imitating you. However, Bethesda has managed to get her way about Fallout Shelter copycat Westworld. More about that in the fresh N8W8.
Good morning! Today is January 17, the day Popeye first appeared in the New York Journal in 1929. On this day in 1955, the USS Nautilus was the first nuclear submarine to sail. And today, in 2013, there was a great stir in the cycling world after Lance Armstrong told Oprah Winfrey that he used doping for years. Fortunately, your Wait only needs chocolate to get to work, time for games!
Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor is coming to Xbox Game Pass
Microsoft has announced that Saints Row: The Third, We Happy Few, and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor are coming to Xbox Game Pass. There are now 176 Xbone titles in the program, versus 36 Xbox 360 games. You can see which ones exactly.
Bethesda Wins: Westworld Game Killed
We’ve written about it before: there was a possible lawsuit surrounding the Westworld game from Warner Bros. This mobile game would be a lot like Fallout Shelter, Bethesda thought. The game studio has managed to achieve few successes with Fallout recently, but with Shelter it has: the Westworld app is no longer in the App Store and the Google Play Store. The two organizations have a settlement in which it has been agreed that Warner Bros. take things offline. Are you relieved because you already have the game on your phone? Don’t cheer too soon: you can only play until April 16 next. Hopefully you have not built up too much in-game currency, because you have to burn all that away in the coming months.
Rigorous: New update requires you to reinstall Sea of Thieves
Good news and bad news for Sea of Thieves fans, the game’s file size has decreased significantly. A larger than normal update is expected on February 6th, but will significantly reduce the install size of the game. Plus, re-downloading the entire game will keep you ready for future game updates. It saves you 25GB on Xbox One, 22GB on Xbox One X and a nice 20GB on PC.
Closed beta The Division 2 starts in early February
Ubisoft has announced that The Division 2 closed beta will take place February 7-10. You can gain access if you pre-order the game on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. The game will be released on March 15.
New release date for The Occupation
He was on the fall release list that your Wait shared with you late last year, but it clearly didn’t work out to actually release that fall. The Occupation has been given a new release date of March 5. The game, set in 1987 and revolving around a journalist investigating The Union Act, will be released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The game took four years to complete, which takes place in just 4 hours.
Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth is released outside Japan
It looks like Persona Q2: New Cinema Labyrinth will be released outside of Japan. In Australia, the game has been given an M rating, which means that you must be 15 years or older to play the game. No official Western release has been announced yet, but this is still very positive. It’s not a pure Persona game, by the way: it’s a crossover with Etrian Odyssey. Hopefully to be continued!
IO Interactive opens new studio
IO Interactive has opened a new studio in Malmo. The studio is called IO Malmo and it appears to be a studio that has to provide content for Hitman. IO further plans to launch new franchises, so it’s looking beyond Agent 47’s bald head as well.
There will be a new Ghostbusters movie based on the original Ghostbusters after all
For anyone who couldn’t handle the fact that women became the Ghostbusters in the new film adaptation and who appreciated the original films, there will also be a new film from the original that stars men. Entertainment Weekly writes that Jason Reitman (Juno) is directing this flick set in the same universe as the old-school movies. Funny that he does, because he is the son of the director of those first two films (he is the kid who says in the second film, “My dad says you guys are full of crap”). By the way, it’s not a reboot and it’s not set in the ’80s, so think of it as the new chapter after those first two movies. Whether Bill Murray is also present is still unknown.
Netflix comes with a comedy called Space Force
While Trump is plotting to launch a sixth military division dealing with space, Netflix has already made a comedy about it. At least, the TV series is still in development. Not by the least, by the way: Steve Carell, Greg Daniels and Howard Klein. Three men who helped make The Office US a huge success, who are now going to map the day-to-day experiences of a fantasy version of such a Space Force in a funny way. When the series should come is still unknown.
New trailer for home stretch Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
And while we’re on the subject of The Office… Ex-Office lady Ellie Kemper has been the epic Kimmy Schmidt for years who goes through the most crazy things with the exaggerated Titus, Lillian and Jacqueline. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is coming to an end, and the trailer for the final episodes of this out-of-the-box Netflix series is now out. Give her a happy ending Netflix, do it! You can watch it on January 25.
Disney will release a live-action version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame
Which actor or actress would be ideal for you to play Quasimodo? Disney plans to also provide The Hunchback of Notre Dame with a live-action treatment. David Henry Hwang (M Butterfly) will write the script and Alan Menken will return to do the music. It is intended to be a kind of musical film. That sounds awful, but Mary Poppins was brilliant so it doesn’t have to be a disaster.
Well, Photoshop a chopped off head and the best man can be in Shadow of Mordor;)
So much for this N8W8. A little more work, it is Thursday, almost weekend, in a few days more game time! Have a nice day today!
Oh yeah, that happened! 😉
