Things aren’t going too well for Warner Bros and DC Comics, who had their latest movie, “Suicide squad“, detonated by critics and several people who watched it. Now, an alleged former WB employee has posted a open letter criticizing the services Kevin TsujiharaCEO of the company, and saying, among other things, that DC’s next film, Wonder Woman, will be just as big a mess as previous films in the universe.
“What are you doing? I would love for you guys to be forced to live in a car until you land a No. 1 movie of the year. I thought to myself, ‘maybe Wonder Woman won’t be such a disaster’ – but make no mistake about the good trailer, people inside the production are already saying that things are awful. It’s almost impressive how you keep rewarding the same executives for making the same mistakes, over and over again”, commented the former employee, who used the pseudonym Gracie Law.
She further stated that WB (more specifically Tsujihara) managed to screw up “Suicide squad“, which had great potential. She also accuses that Zack Snyder is not doing a good job, since he failed in “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman”, and even so he continues as a producer of DC films and even returns as director in Justice League – “he is being awarded the opportunity to make more people lose their jobs”.
Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman, responded to the letter via her Twitter, denying the story that the feature is in trouble and claiming that the accusations are completely false.
“I just saw the story in the press about Wonder Woman having problems. Is this serious? This is completely made up crap. Invented! Produce a font, folks.
You cannot, because it is entirely false. Don’t believe the hype. Someone is trying to spread serious misinformation. It’s not until you’re intimately involved in these things that you realize how utterly false these rumors can be. Let me assure…
Nothing about the movie we’re making has been called a mess by anyone in the know. Fact. The real lasso of truth, time, will reveal that letter to be a fake very soon.”
Whether it is true or not, that the production of Wonder Woman is a “mess”, the fact is that the film carries a great deal of pressure on its back, with the mission to please the public, and the critics, after its recent dislikes created by “Batman v Superman” and “Suicide Squad”.
