The release date means the console will launch in the same week as major titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Dirt 5 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Ubisoft also confirmed on Wednesday that the release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been moved to November 10, a week earlier than the original release date.

“When Xbox Series X and Series S are released in November, it will usher in a new generation of gaming experiences,” wrote Phil Spencer, head of the Xbox division. “Optimized games for Xbox Series X and Series S coming this year are built to take full advantage of our fastest consoles yet. “On day one, be the first to enjoy next-gen versions of games like Gears Tactics, Tetris Effect: Connected and Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Watch Dogs: Legion.”

“Xbox Series S is designed around the same technology that will make these games and so many other titles look and feel great. In our discussions with developers, we identified the areas that are the most difficult to scale effectively, including the CPU and I / O. Powered by the Xbox Velocity Architecture, you can expect the same benefits from Xbox Series S, such as faster load times and Quick Resume . Xbox Series S also supports the same next-gen features, including HDMI 2.1, frame rates up to 120 fps, DirectX Ray tracing and Variable Rate Shading. ”

Spencer continued, “And the new Xbox consoles are also the only ones that are backwards compatible with the consoles of the last four generations, so you can play thousands of games better than ever and play with friends on your console, PC and mobile devices. ”
