Xiaomi has gone crazy with the price of the POCO F1, 329 euros for a high-end with Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM.
Last week Pocophone burst onto the smartphone scene with airs that reminded us a bit of that original OnePlus and its aspiration to be a flagship killer, presenting a terminal with high-end features at prices that are not at all common in its range. A launch in India with the promise of crossing borders, and today they have confirmed it: POCO F1 arrives in Europe.
This new Xiaomi brand for the moment presents this unique proposal (although with a special edition). A mobile with the latest Qualcomm processor, a 4,000 mAh battery and a set of cameras approximately or equivalent to that of one of its rivals and, in turn, from home: the Xiaomi Mi 8. And now both also play in the old continent.

A design that does not innovate, but differs
Aluminum began to be the material of choice for higher-end phones, but little by little it was turned to glass for convenience to be able to implement wireless charging and in the end also to create the trend. The POCO F1 escapes this with a plastic construction, which may be more or less aesthetic but is usually more resistant to scratches and fingerprints (and does not crack with a strong blow).
This will have to be verified, especially since the brand promises that the material has passed very demanding tests in this regard. But the one who boasts more of that is the Armored Edition, mounted on kevlar fiber. This variant will not arrive in Spain.
All that frames a 6.18-inch IPS screen with an 18: 7: 9 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1,080 x 2,246 pixels. With notch, which houses an advanced facial recognition system, so that the fingerprint reader is included but is in the back, under the double camera in a module that unlike the Mi 8 and other smartphones that have followed the line of iPhone X design is in the central part.
A powerful engine that is fluid cooled
The POCO F1 integrates a Snapdragon 845, and can be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM or 8 GB. Components that feed on a 4,000 mAh battery as we said at the beginning (with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charge), remaining at least in capacity on paper above the Mi 8 or the OnePlus 6 and reaching the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or the Huawei P20 Pro.
As for the components, what also stands out is the liquid cooling system baptized as LiquidCool Technology. With it they promise a heat dissipation 300% faster than that of their rivals, referring above all to the advantages over the user experience that this can represent, especially in hours of play.
For photography, the POCO F1 features the combination of a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor (with 1.4-micron pixels) and a 5-megapixel Samsung sensor for the rear. For the front camera, it incorporates a 20 megapixel sensor, with Super Pixel technology. of course, with portrait mode and artificial intelligence, functions that already seem to be basic in any mobile camera.
MIUI on Android, but a particular MIUI
For the software, the bet of the new brand at the moment is the installation of its own layer. On Android Oreo 8.1.0 we see a MIUI redesigned for POCO, focused on maximizing fluidity and making apps easy to organize and find, with the also recently released POCO Launcher.
POCO Launcher will be available from August 29 on its beta version on Google Play for those interested in trying it (on this or another Android terminal), and the update to Android Pie is expected for the last quarter of the year. A layer with its own aesthetics and functions that are added to what Google puts on its system.
