YouTube allows you to try the new features only if you are Premium, but I want something simpler.
The ones we pay YouTube Premium we have a series of interesting advantages compared to free users: goodbye to advertising in videos, the possibility of continuing to play with the screen off or access to YouTube Music.
The platform has just announced that, in addition to all that, YouTube Premium users now have exclusive access to some “experimental features”, which we can try before the rest.
“For a limited time, Premium subscribers can try new features that we are working on. Please share your suggestions with us to help us improve YouTube.”

Incognito ≠ Premium
Between these “experimental functions” that we can now activate, there is the option to play videos with sound and search controls on the home screen (exclusively for iOS at the moment), voice search on the web and the possibility of filtering subject in other languages.
It seems that YouTube wants to reward users who pay the subscription monthly, something that could make a lot of sense but that will surely generate some controversy on the platform.

I, I repeat, have been a YouTube Premium user for several months. The possibility of watching videos without advertising and being able to play content with the screen off (ideal for interviews or concerts) have been really important points when taking the step.
If I want to avoid the history or that affects my recommendations, it means that I have to see advertising

Personally, if i could order an “experimental feature” from YouTube it would be (without a doubt) the possibility of playing in incognito mode without losing the features that your account has when paying for the Premium subscription.
It’s something that doesn’t make a lot of sense. I like that the algorithm recommends me content on the home screen, and that is why there are times when I want to see a video (which is often recommended there) but I do not want to take it into account when offering recommendations.

If I activate incognito mode, that means I will have to swallow the advertising and say goodbye to screen-off playback. I repeat, I can’t make sense of it. Platforms like Spotify offer options (“private session”) for this type of situation.
It would be as simple as adding the possibility of viewing content with your Premium account and that it does not appear in your history / the algorithm does not take it into account to recommend related videos.
I suspect that Google has the ability to also store that a certain account (or IP address) has been disconnected and then viewed a particular video in incognito mode. I find it a bit annoying that YouTube forces you to go through your history if you want to skip the advertising or have it played in the background.
